Sales + Office duties:

  • Development new and existing customer relationships
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
  • Consult with clients after sales or contract signing
  • Formal/resolve detail and issues and provide ongoing support
  • Support existing customers (by phone, email, in-person customer visits) and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders
  • Enter Customer requested quotes for pricing into MRP system, establish customer need for credit and contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Negotiate details of contracts and payments and prepare sales contracts and order forms (quantities, deadlines, pricing, etc.)
  • Obtain credit information about prospective customers
  • Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
  • Prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs
  • Provide customers with product samples and catalogs
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests
  • Train customers' employees to operate and maintain new equipment
  • Assist the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances

Order Processing / System Administration:

  • Planning Deliveries each Month based on forecasts
  • Invoicing customer thru MRP system
  • Record incoming goods into MRP system
  • Maintain customer order and EDI releases
  • Sending Inquiries VIA MRP system
  • MRP systems knowledge


  • 2 - 4 years experience in Industrial Sales; Degree or some college preferred but not required.
  • High School/G.E.D required
  • Technical / mechanical background with an ability to read and understand engineering part drawings and specifications
  • Experience using measurement tools – Calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Extensive product knowledge of industrial hardware, fasteners, metals, brackets, nuts, bolts
  • Extensive product application knowledge
  • MRP experience


  • Salary + Commission
