Position Overview

VIDARR is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Compliance Manager to oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, compliance, and day-to-day technology operations across multiple locations.

This person will serve as the internal IT leader, coordinating with employees, leadership, external MSPs/vendors, and other technology partners to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Systems

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft-based IT infrastructure.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange/Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and related services.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID, user accounts, authentication, MFA, permissions, and identity/access management.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune and endpoint/device management.
  • Oversee Windows environments, computers, laptops, mobile devices, and other endpoints.
  • Support networking, connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain system availability, performance, security, and reliability.
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding and user access.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support compliance with CMMC requirements, including CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 environments as applicable.
  • Implement and maintain controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171.
  • Monitor security risks, vulnerabilities, access controls, and endpoint security.
  • Coordinate security assessments, audits, documentation, and remediation activities.
  • Maintain appropriate IT policies, procedures, inventories, and compliance documentation.

ERP & Business Systems

  • Support and administer Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / GovCon365 and related business systems.
  • Coordinate technology needs across multiple companies/business units.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to improve systems, workflows, integrations, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with software providers and vendors when issues or implementations require outside support.

IT Support & Operations

  • Serve as the primary internal IT point of contact for employees and leadership.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, account, and access issues.
  • Coordinate with the company’s contracted helpdesk/MSP.
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately and ensure resolution.
  • Establish and maintain IT processes for employee onboarding, offboarding, equipment, access, and support.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventories and technology documentation.

Vendor & MSP Management

  • Manage relationships with MSPs, technology vendors, software providers, and contractors.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Monitor vendor performance, service levels, contracts, and technology costs.
  • Coordinate implementations, upgrades, migrations, and other technology projects.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across IT systems administration, Microsoft environments, cybersecurity, compliance, and business systems and be comfortable operating as the primary internal IT leader in a growing organization.

Company Environment

At the time we developed the description, the VIDARR environment was approximately 20–30 employees and contractors, with facilities in Virginia Beach and Portsmouth, plus remote/traveling personnel. The company currently uses a contracted helpdesk/MSP rather than having a dedicated internal IT department, making this position the primary internal IT leadership role.
