Role Summary
The IT Administrator oversees the company’s technical infrastructure, systems reliability, and day-to-day IT operations. This role ensures secure, stable, and efficient technology environments across hardware, software, networks, and user support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable supporting a fast-moving engineering and operations team with evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Network Administration
- Manage and maintain company networks, servers, firewalls, and security configurations.
- Oversee user accounts, permissions, and access control across all platforms.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and security posture; implement improvements as needed.
- Maintain documentation for network architecture, configurations, and IT procedures.
Hardware & Software Management
- Deploy, configure, and maintain laptops, workstations, mobile devices, and specialized equipment.
- Manage software licensing, updates, patching, and compliance.
- Support procurement and setup of new hardware, tools, and IT resources.
- Track inventory of devices, peripherals, and technical assets.
Security & Compliance
- Implement cybersecurity best practices, including MFA, endpoint protection, and secure configurations.
- Conduct periodic audits of systems, access, and data handling.
- Support compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents or vulnerabilities.
User Support & Operations
- Provide timely technical support to employees and contractors across all departments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues with clear communication and follow-through.
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes, including account setup and equipment provisioning.
- Maintain organized ticketing, tracking, and documentation for IT requests.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to support technical workflows.
- Assist with configuration of specialized tools, lab equipment, and operational systems.
- Support technology needs for meetings, demos, events, and remote collaboration.
- Participate in planning and execution of IT-related projects and upgrades.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration, systems support, or network management.
- Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and security practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms, identity management, and endpoint administration.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in startup, manufacturing, engineering, or defense-adjacent environments.
- Familiarity with secure facility requirements, device management platforms, or compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting specialized hardware, lab systems, or technical tooling.
