Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Financial – Responsible for implementing the financial policies and procedures, planning, analysis, budget and cash management.

Responsible for advising CEO on financial matters, as well as creating and maintaining integrity of internal and external reporting.

Supervision and/or oversight of the following:

· Develop and document accounting procedures.

· Maintain the accounting software of the Harvest Center of Charlotte

· Maintain relationships with banks.

· Update the general ledger and chart of accounts as needed.

· Produce overall monthly and annual financial and budget reports for the Board of Directors and President/CEO.

· Department-specific reports for other directors appropriate with their responsibilities

· Calculate, report, and present income/expense projections, results, and variances from the budget

· Plan, coordinate, produce and present annual (or longer as needed) budgets, working with the appropriate internal staff, and then with the         President/CEO and Finance Committee of the Board, before the final presentation to the entire Board of Directors

· Monitor financial reserves and projected cash flows

· Oversee Pledges Receivable and Accounts Payable

· Compile financial reports as required by the Board of Directors and the President/CEO

· Assist external auditors with the preparation of annual financial information, reports, and IRS informational returns (990).

· Oversee processes and reporting for staff compensation and benefits programs, including health/life insurance and 403b plan

· Handle inquiries from IRS, Dept of Labor, EEOC board, etc.

2. Investment Management – Responsible for the implementation of THCC’s funds in accordance with THCC investment policies approved by the Board of Directors.

3. Risk Management – Keep current and enhance THCC’s business coverage and liability insurances, as environmental changes dictate. Provide timely counsel and monitoring of claims and/or potential areas of exposure.

4. Policy and Procedures – Responsible for maintaining general and administrative, employment and financial policies for THCC.

5. Have an overall working knowledge of the philosophy, policy program and development of THCC’s Mission in order to promote the ministry and help accomplish organizational goals.

6. Attend all Board meetings, staff meetings and other meetings as needed

7. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting from an accredited school CPA or CMA designation

Minimum ten years’ of accounting and finance management experience

Skill:

Exceptional managerial skills: planning, organizing, implementing and supervising.

Extremely detail oriented.

Strong verbal and written communication skills utilizing English.

Proficient with computers as used in business environment, Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet.

Strong people skills Strong understanding of organization objectives Strong spiritual foundation (authentic relationship to God through Jesus Christ)

Ability:

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks Strong verbal and communication skills Able to spend the majority of time sitting, speaking, listening and/or writing.

Benefits:

Bonus: 5% of Salary Benefits based on KPIs

Paid Vacation: 2 weeks to start
